Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our datasets, Chrome extension, pricing, and delivery.
๐ฆ Datasets
Freshness refers to when listings were last scraped from US YellowPages. 30-Day Fresh means all records were captured within the last 30 days. 7-Day Fresh means within the last 7 days. Every delivery includes a job manifest with sample URLs and timestamps you can independently verify.
Yes. You can scope your dataset by any combination of state, city, and business category. Use our instant configurator to define your scope and see the price immediately, or contact sales for complex multi-scope requests.
We deliver in CSV, XLSX, JSON, NDJSON, Parquet, and SQLite/MySQL. You can request multiple formats in the same order at no extra charge. You can also order with a specific format and it will be delivered to you
Most standard orders are delivered within 06-24 hours via secure email link. Large custom scopes (5M+ listings or complex filtering) may take 24 hours to be prepared and sent. Rush delivery is available on request.
After payment, you'll receive an order confirmation email. We prepare your dataset within the delivery window and send a secure, password-protected download link to your email. The link includes your files in your chosen format(s) along with a job manifest documenting the scrape.
Unlike generic data marketplaces, our datasets are freshly scraped to order with verifiable timestamps. We provide complete fields, phone/address/domain normalization, deduplication, and flexible delivery formats. You also get a job manifest and sample URLs โ not just a static, stale CSV with unknown provenance.
๐ Coverage and Input
Yes. You can begin with a profession, business type, or category, then enter the city, state, or ZIP code on YellowPages.com and start the scraping process. This matches how YellowPages organizes listings across U.S. locations and categories.
You can start from search terms and category pages, but not from direct business URLs. Our extractor is designed for bulk data collection workflows used by professionals and agencies, rather than single-page or one-off business extraction.
We currently support YellowPages.com. We also offer separate one-time-paid extractors for YellowPages Canada and YellowPages Australia. For those versions, please contact us directly.
YellowPages generally shows around 30 listings per results page. The total number of results for a search can range from dozens to hundreds or even thousands, depending on the category, location, and how many businesses YellowPages currently has indexed for that query. YellowPages itself says it connects users with over 19โ20 million local businesses.
Broad searches often return fewer usable results because wider queries reduce relevance and increase listing overlap. For the best output, we recommend using specific categories and tightly targeted locations.
๐ง Technical and Scale
For light usage, not always. For serious scale, yes โ reliable proxy infrastructure is what keeps scraping fast, stable, and less likely to get blocked as request volume rises. Websites commonly use rate limits, bot scoring, and challenge actions to control automated traffic.
In the extension, we keep request pacing conservative. For larger dataset runs, we add proxy rotation, retry logic, CAPTCHA handling, and distributed infrastructure to keep extraction stable at scale. Rate limiting, bot scoring, and challenge actions are standard anti-abuse controls on the web.
Because email capture is a deeper enrichment step. Core business fields often appear directly on YellowPages search results, while email data is less consistently exposed and usually requires extra page visits, extra parsing, and more validation before it can be added to the dataset. YellowPages search results visibly expose fields like phone, address, website, hours, ratings, and years in business, while richer profile data varies by listing.
Usually because the session was rate-limited, challenged, or temporarily blocked. Our scraper uses defensive pacing and recovery logic to reduce interruptions, and if you hit an issue, our team will help you get it back on track. Sites commonly use rate limits and challenge actions to slow or stop automated traffic.
We optimize for stability over reckless speed. In the extension, a realistic pace is about 1 listing every 1โ2 seconds for reliable runs; pushing much harder increases the chance of throttling, blocking, and incomplete scrapes. That tradeoff is consistent with how rate-limiting systems are designed to react to high request volume.
๐ Data Fields and Completeness
We capture core listing data from search pages, then enrich each record with deeper business details when available. Fields can include business name, category, address, phone, email, website, hours, ratings, reviews, descriptions, services, brands, and source URL.
Because YellowPages listing quality varies by business. Some profiles are fully built out, while others only include the basics. We extract what is publicly available on each listing.
Yes โ we extract hours, services, descriptions, and available business links. We do not extract photo assets, but we can capture profile links that may include social or other external links.
Yes โ we capture review ratings and review counts, and full review data can be included in dataset exports when available.
Yes โ every record includes source links for full traceability, and unique identifiers can be included to support QA, deduplication, and syncing.
โก Chrome Extension
If you need ongoing control and want to scrape on your own schedule, get the extension. If you need a large batch of data quickly without doing the work yourself, buy a dataset. Many teams use both โ the extension for day-to-day prospecting and datasets for large bulk orders.
Credits measure your monthly capture volume. Quick scrapes cost 1 credit per record. Deep scrapes cost 3 credits per record. Your monthly pool is shared across both modes and resets at the start of each billing cycle. The Free plan includes 300 credits/month.
Quick extracts from search result cards โ faster, lighter, 1 credit/record. Deep visits each listing page for full data including email, hours, and specialties โ 3 credits/record. Choose based on whether you need speed or completeness.
Yes. The extension operates only on pages you actively browse. There is no background scraping, no cloud uploads, and no automated crawling. All data is stored locally in your browser profile. It's designed for professional, user-initiated data collection.
Open the extension options page (click the gear icon in the popup) and select your desired plan. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout. After payment, you'll receive a license key via email. Enter it in the extension to activate your plan immediately.
